I’ve never been to a place where “everybody knows your name,” but the feeling you get when you walk into The Brassie pub in Ancaster comes pretty close.
The welcome at the door is friendly and instantaneous. It’s obvious from the overheard exchanges between customers and staff that a good number of people eating here are regulars. Many then turn back to watching what’s on the several big-screen TVs that line the walls. There’s a lot of laughter in the background din. In other words, the initial impression is of a real neighbourhood place where everybody’s comfortable.
